gen 5 camry power window failure

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if this is a known problem area for the gen 5 camry. My rear driver side power window motor failed just after I bought the car.

i don't know what year your gen5 is, but that should def. be a dealer fix issue - take it back to them and see what is up, i have not heard of this being a common problem

Hey mine also failed right when i got my camry. I took the door panel off and checked that the motor was getting power and it is but the problem was inside the motor; the little carbon teeth that give the electricity to the inside of the motor are just worn out, so i looked to see if i could replace the motor but it turns out that i have to replace the whole thing that lifts up the whole window. I still havent replace mine and i plan on going to pick and pull this weekend to see if the have any camrys.

I drive a 2002 Gen5, and the rear driver side power window failed around 25k miles, and when i took it to the dealership, they replaced the wire or harness, forgot exactly what they did. But about 2 months ago it failed on me again, since it was around 40k miles, past warranties, i took it to a shop that my dad knew, and i ended up having to replace the motor. Even since i havent had any problems with the power windows, and i better not have that problem again since the motor was replaced.

It's a 2002 and the bumper to bumper warranty has expired. The dealership already looked at it and quoted me $520 for a new motor. Since it was a Certified Pre-Owned just purchased in June I put in a complaint with Toyota Canada. They will get back to me in about a week but I imagine they will say the same thing as the dealership...tough luck.

Gen5

I have the same problem on my 2002, Gen 5. The left rear (behind driver) power window will not work, check all the fuses and all are ok. Car has 59k and the rear windows are rarely used. Out of warranty. Will it be a common problem?

The door is stuck on child lock and WILL NOT UNLOCK! plus the button stays orange even though i press the power lock button. but the door's locked =/

damn. I thought these things should work for years without problems. what do you docontinously roll up and down your windows?

$520.00 for a motor? I suggest if you have any techincal abilities to do it your self. order the motor. I doubt it is more than 200$

I just replaced my driver's side rear window motor last week. At 34K it was still under warranty. It works fine now. Dealer was very kind, diagnosed the problem and fix ed it with no questions. They also fixed a lot of wind noise and squeeks.
