So, I'm driving in to work today (about half an hr ago), and as I pull into the building's parking lot I hear this horriflul (horrible+awful) sound, like I drove over something or whatever.
I immediately pull into an open spot to inspect. I get under, nothing seems loose/missing. I check the engine to see if maybe something fell from there (alternator bearings are on their last leg) but no, everything is there too. So I slowly pull out, and drive onto my usual spot and I hear the scraping/clunking noise again. It's loud in the cabin, but not so much from outside. Of course, the day something like this happens, is the day I don't have any of my tools on me (never again :facepalm. Because I'm at work, I can't go out there to look at it further (not to mention it started to rain just now), so I'm gonna take a stab at it and guess my brake pads are due again and that's that (the sound stops whenever I press down the brake pedal or go over a speedbump). What is the worst that this problem might be? I won't know for sure until I get off work at 3 am, and drive 20 miles back home.:disappoin
