Hello Everyone, I own a 08 solara convertible when I use thr rear window defroster it takes about 12 minutes to fully clear the window. I also own a 01 corolla the defroster fully cleares the window in 6 minutes. Is this normal for the solara to take so long for the defroster to work. Thanks for your help. CBen
could be a lot of different reasons. could be the cars themselves, the number of heat stripes on the windshield or the age of the car. probably not much you can do about it unfortunately
although you could try RainX defogger stuff they sell at autozone, wipe it on and it'll prevent fog on your windows, ive used it and it works very well. just dont put on too much, it's basically denatured alcohol.
While still under warranty, my '08 convertible rear defroster stopped working. Dealer had to install a whole new top, since Toyota says you can't replace rear window only. Warranty saved me the $3200, but both the dealer and I thought it was ridiculous.
