Well now that I'm up to about 85k and I've been hearing some squealing noises and grinding and such i figured that it's about time for a belt, pluss I wanted to inspect everything. Got the old belt off yesterday at work and checked out all the pullies. The noise that I could have sworn was a waterpump beginning to fail actually ended up being the lower idler pully just below the pump. So I ended up just putting the old belt back on for now and ordered myself 2 new idler pullies. Figured id replace them both to avoid having to take the belt off again any time soon. Got both from my local Toyota dealer for under 100 bucks. (we have an account with them). So I'll be doing them later on this week and I'll update with any shortcuts and/or issues I run into. Btw as for doing a waterpump on these I deffinately see numerous ways to get it out without removing the engine as per the book. Luckily for me mines still strong with no bearing noises or leaking.
Here's where the one I found failed is. Crank pully is on the bottom. Water pump on top. Idler to the left.
