In choosing between a Camry 07' w/ 4 cylinder and its hybrid counterpart, which has more power getting onto the freeway, driving on the freeway, including driving on some hilly and curvy terrains most of the time. Is there a significant or noticeable between the two in terms of power? By power I mean peppy and lots of passing power.
Just curious.
Thanks
I thought about the Hybrid...However, I drive 70 miles to work on the freeway. What is the point. I would hardly ever use the battery. Hybrids would be great for a Big City!

I agree. Get I4 there's alot less to go wrong. You might consider a V6. I have one and I am getting 32mph on the highway.
Car and Driver had an article about that a month or two back in their magazines. the hybrids do pay off but it takes a number of years, around 5 or 6 to be exact,

The hybrid make the best of both worlds....perfomance and economy. Id love to get one..but the cost of it is a bit of a turn off to me. And what happens to all that hybrid stuff when it goes bad? The battery must cost a couple thousand alone. But still great mileage and perfomance......cant argue with that.....
Hybrid will have more power but for about $4,200 over a similar equipped XLE 4 cyl. and losing 8 XLE features plus small trunk size didn't make sense to me.
The tax credit if available, wouldn't help me any.
If you drive a lot of miles/year, expecially in the city, it may make sense or if you lease.
I figured it would get about 12 mpg more than my XLE 4 cyl with a combination of hwy/city driving.
Am I not searching correctly, I can't find a dedicated Camry Hybrid forum! That being said, I have had a deposit on one since January. The dealer says it should be $30,300 completed dressed out like I want. I saw a dealer selling at CE (obviously stripped down) for $16K. Am I paying a premium of $14K for a hybrid or what?
