2007 Camry Hybrid Options Available

I was looking to buy a new Camry, but was told that I cannot have a "remote start" with the hybrid. It is listed as option V4 on mytoyota.com but I've been told by 2 local dealers that it is not available on hybrids. I decided to go with the 2007 Camry XLE 4 cyl. Now I'm told that I can't get the "navigation system" on the 4 cly. nor can I get the "Vehicle Stability Control" (VSC) unless I order the 6 cyl. Does anyone know if this is true???

man, your dealer is bsing you. i'm not sure whether you can get remote start with the hydrid, but i'm sure that VSC and nav can be put on the XLE because I got one. you might want to talk to other dealership than the one you talked to.

Well, many configurations aren't available in certain regions, so the dealer may be telling you the TRUTH. Try building a car on toyota.com and see what packages are available for you. And I found out that even if the site does allow you to build it a certain way, it still may not be able to be ordered that way--that's just the way Toyota works and that's why they're efficient, less combinations of choices. (I hate it as much as most other people, but I understand it from a business perspective).

I've got a TCH and have tried to get the remote start. The sales person told me that there was a computer "glitch" with the remote start for the hybrids and until they fix the "glitch", it won't be available. Not being such a trusting soul, I called another dealership and talked to the service department and they told me the same thing and was also told to try and call back later around Oct-Nov timeframe to see if the problem has been fixed.

Gen6 Why Remote Start?

Why does someone buy a hybrid? For fuel economy is why I bought mine. Remote start wastes gas, you are getting zero mpg while your vehicle is not moving. I also think that the way a hybrid works, that remote starting may not be that advantages anyway.

If you live in Maine (as I do) and there's a thick coating of ice - you'll love remote starters - as long as you don't leave your wipers on

remote Start

My TCH was delivered July 28th in Kansas City and it had the V4 remote start option installed, really didn't want it for $595.00 but it was either take it or wait for another car. I'm sure it was installed at the port (Portland)
