Camry Hybrid & HID

Hi All:

Just purchased a Camry Hybrid (btw the vehicle is great).

Looking to purchase HID's from XenonDepot which, as it seems, does include a relay which connects to the 12V battery to prevent overload to the stock harness.

Ok, all is well, but on the hybrid the 12V battery is in the trunk. Are there any safe locations to connect the relay to in the engine bay?

Thank you all in advance

There should be a connection at the fuse box. But on mine, I ran a wire from the battery in the trunk though the firewall. It's really not that hard, and much more safe in the long run.

Are you all running HID for low beam only? High beams you lose DRL, right?

Yeah i am looking into putting an HID kit on my 07 camry hybrid...i heard someone on here hooked up toyota ballasts OEM from a lexus to their 07 camry and just hooked it straight up to the stock wiring and he said he has had it on their for a year or so now and it is perfectly fine....i want to know more about that and also he said he used a D2S bulb in the projector but that is not right cause the projector takes an H11 bulb. I know you can buy adaptors on ebay for a couple bucks which im thinkin about doing. Just thrown this out there so i can get more info on it, if someone knows more about it and also to provide info for people if they want an OEM setup!!!

H11 applies to halogen bulbs. The D2S capsule is the actual HID capsule which means that person with the OEMs from Lexus probably did a full retrofit rather than just adding a kit.

That would be right. HID's for high beams would be pointless.
