Just wondering...

I purchased a black camry hybrid. As I was looking at the brochure and Toyota website, I noticed that the black color was not offered. I was just curious to see if anyone else owned a black hybrid.

I have a black THB and have seen the odd one on the road.

Somedays wish i had not as it gets dusty so quickly.

My understanding was the black was only an option in Canada.

Camry Hybrid is not offered in black in the us.

It is not offeren in usa but how is it jaysryde has it than(it show that he is from san diago)?

My guesses:

1. He has ordered it, and the dealer made a mistake that hasn't been caught yet.

2. He is driving a car that he thinks is a hybrid (but actually isn't).

3. He is in Canada.

4. They somehow special ordered the black color?

5. It is really the magnetic gray color.

These are all pure speculation of course!

I think that it might have been special ordered, but not by me. I called the dealership in advance to see if they had any hybrids. They had a black and silver. The silver color was being bought. I saw the black hybrid and purchased it the next day. I did not realize until after I bought it that black was not an available color for the TCH. I am not in Canada, but rather good 'ol Southern California. And it's definitely black. I've seen a good amount of TCH's down here, but obviously none in black...

I'll ask the dealer and post a.s.a.p.

If it is black, you have a very rare car for the U.S.

What options did you get with it?

And can you post pictures! I would love to see this mythical beast! I would have gotten a black one if it was an option - I got magnetic gray instead.

I'm guessing a Canadian dealer had the car, and then the San Diego dealer did a swap. There should be no difference in the car, since all were built in Japan up until now.

For my zipcode (60053) the Toyota Website offers BLACK as a color option for the Toyota Camry Hybrid.

The options are the same for the other hybrids including: tinted blue halogens, led taillights, dual climate control, 8 speaker JBL system, and 16 inch alloys. bluetooth, etc. No moonroof and no leather interior. I have some pix I took this evening. I will post soon.

you are right when you put chicagoland zip code on toyota.com build and prize black does come up but i have not seen any around.

It seems odd to me that they would offer black in some areas of the country, but not others.

Same in Stick shift. It will not come up as sellection in the web site and dealer told me that they never had one.
