Gen6 What is this on rear deck?

I was looking at a hybrid today and noticed on the rear deck what looked like vents? My XLE doesn't have this it has a sun shade. These vents are in front of the center rear light and protrude upward. I've searched the forum and haven't found the answer.

They're cooling vents for the hybrid's batteries.

It's cooling fan intake for the traction battery. There is a matching exhaust vent in the trunk. Netither should be blocked for any reason.
