08 TCH w/ 20's & Tint

Here is my silver TCH with the rims and tint I just got done. I want to say thanks to makiev. I saw your post about who to use for tint. California Tint did a great job. It was worth the three hour drive to get there. The quality and service was great. If you are looking to get your tint done in So Cal then contact Peter at California Tint. They also hooked me up with Kings Discount Tire. I got the entire package (20 X 7.5 Sportmax 502's w/tires, every lugnut is a wheel lock, mounting, balancing, and even the tire pressure monitors done. Prices for everything....$150 for the tint (I added the eyebrow but without it the price would have been about $130) and $1300 for the rims and tires. Both of these places did great work and were very polite and timely. They are located in Rosemead. Also, my sub and box will be here on Wednesday. I think I found the perfect setup and will be installing it later this week. I will try to post pics of the install as well. Bout the only other thing left to do is a body kit. I am thinking I will go with the RK Sport. Will have to wait and see. Anyhow, hope you all enjoy.

looks good, but isnt putting big rims on a hybrid defeating the purpose of the hybrid to begin with. You bought the hybrid to save money on gas and get better mileage. but by adding big rims that weigh more then stock your mpg will be going down. just asking

Yeah I thought about the weight. The rims are aluminum, so they are not very heavy at all. I actually lifted each of them and of course they are a little heavier, but not by much. I went with the 20X7.5 instead of the 20X8.5 to save a little weight. Plus, the diameter of the wheels is identical to that of the stock. They are both 26.2 inches. I drove back the three hours from L.A. and still got over 35 MPG. I was going uphill. I have not noticed a difference in mileage at all. But it was definitely something I thought about before doing it. Thanks for the compliment though.

Thumbs up Nice ride

Hey, I love the look of your car with the rims and tint. It looks very clean. I would love to do somthing like that with my new 09 hybrid. Hope you dont mind me asking a few questions,

1. Did you take the Tire pressure monitors from your old tires/rims or did they install new ones?
2. What kind of tires are those?
3. How is the ride quality complared to the stock tires?
4. I know you said the tires are the same diameter, so I take it there is no rubbing or anything like that?
5. The ride height is stock? no lowering or anything like that right?
6. Also, what offset are those wheels?

Hope that wasnt to many questions, but you have inspired me to do something very similar with my ride when money permits. Again awesome looking ride .

Brian
