Annoying Seat-Belt Chime

Is there an easy way to DISABLE the warning chime that progressively chimes faster to annoy the crap out of me to buckle up?

I have always found it very simple to buckle up as a habit when you enter the car and be safe than sorry. Beside that it is the law or pay a big fine. However, I don't understand why anyone would not want themselves, family or friends to be safe.

I never said anything about DRIVING without buckling up. Believe me, I feel safer driving with the seat belt fastened.

It's just that sometimes I need to unbuckle while double parked with the engine running. But the damn chime will come on after a while.

Pop out the nav unit and you find a smalll black box with 4 wires, pop the pink with white strip wire out of the holder, if in a hurry cut it off and tape it.

Thanks Regal. I'll try that this weekend and see how that goes. Hope the pink wire doesn't also disable the seatbelt light in the dash because I can use the visual warning.

Also, thanks for your other helpful reply on the Platinum Care. I'm seriously considering it.

your dealer can make that adjustment. You may have to pressure him to do it. It can be done.

You can find directions on how to do it on an RX400h here:

Maybe it'ill work on a TCH. Easier than popping the NAV out.

Thanks Bob! The TCH seems to have the same display as the Lexus but I've tried it over and over without success.

Thanks Acco20. I hope the dealer won't charge an hour's labor for that.
