Whistle on acceleration 09 Hybrid

Hello:

There's a strange whistling noise (more so than a humming) that can only really be heard when I'm cruising between 60-80mph. It's coming from the engine and doesn't change pitch. If you let go of the accelerator, it goes away and returns when you even press the pedal lightly. Definately not something like speaker hum, it also does it with the AC off. I took it to the dealer and they insist there is nothing wrong with it and that the whistle is normal. Is this normal or is it something i need to get used to?

Mine does the same thing depending on speed and throttle input level. Seems to be related to the regenerating aspect of the Synergy drive system. It is quite an annoying sound and I wish there were some way around it other than just changing speed or throttle position.

I get a whistling sound when I am starting the car from zero and it comes from the back where the battery is located. An intermittent and random whistling sound. Low pitch.

Camry 2008 Hybrid with 80,000 miles.

Everything works fine.
