Hey all
I bought a new 09TCH on June 28th. The dealer said the waiting list is about eight weeks, but he was quick to tell us he sold one on June 3rd and it arrived in the last week of June, so it's possible we might get it before the August 23rd deadline.
I bought the car from Erin Park Toyota in Mississauga (suburbs of Toronto). It's the base model, no NAV, but I did request tinted windows.
Anyone know about when I should expect my hybrid? How long did you wait for your car?
I put my tints in the back for 99$.. I bought a black 09.. Problem I have is the dealer who i had numerous dealing with has a contract with NYC for the Prius (3 months-45 each month to the city) and the Taxi and Limo commission for the black Camry's...
Knowing the people there and a few back and forth’s, I got myself the black, since the only TCH they had were red, Silver and Grey…
I bought an 08 Camry Base model from Toyota on Front in September (I did some test drives at Erin Park, Jim Holbrook). I was also told it could take 6 weeks or more, but it was in in about 3 weeks. I bey you'll have it in July. Do you mind saying what you paid? You can PM me if you want.
Cheers
I got a call from the dealer today as expected. He promised to call us two weeks after purchase to give us an update. Well, I better get comfortable waiting because it's going to be awhile.
I wonder if delivery would of been faster if I bought the car at a different dealership.
I can't believe it either, seems like several months ago they were discounting the hybrids!
Yep they sure were. I bought my 2008 TCH in Feb 08 with a $2,000 discount off sticker. They started the "we don't discount" hybrids story and I pulled out the Edmund's sheet on the exact car and that was it. Got the discount. Now it is a whole different story.
They said it was going to come from Japan, i had to pay $1500 extra for freight (i believe i spelt that right) all together it came to $34200 something like that Canadian. If it is from Kentucky, then i wouldnt have to pay frieght right?
No matter where they are building your car, they're going to charge you freight. They have to transport your car over the border to where ever you live. Car companies like to charge for everything.
But from what I'm hearing, the Camry Hybrid is worth the added cost and added wait. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
MIn the mddle of 2007, when gas was still under $3/gal, you could get a TCH for $500 over invoice. Now it's back to the same price as when I bought mine in Aug 2006 during initial introduction, when you had to pay MSRP. The difference is that I got a $2600 tax credit, and people buying now don't, plus Toyota has eliminated a lot of the standard options (like alloy wheels, JBL stereo, keyless remote, etc) but kept the same price. I was kicking myself in mid-2007 for buying too early, but now I guess I did the right thing!
