Canada Cold air intake to a 2009 TCH? possible?

Possible to add a TRD cold air intake to a 2009 TCH? If i could do that, gas mileage will be better

I could be wrong, but I think you're mistaken. Gas mileage would be worse, but performance would be better. By sucking in colder air, you burn the fuel with more oxygen and get higher performance, but it will also reduce the efficiency of the burn. Here's an extreme example of the same principle... what if you hooked up an intercooled-supercharger to your engine? Much more power, but much lower fuel mileage. (I owned a 1990 Thunderbird SC which smoked the regular V6 T-Bird but at a significant fuel efficiency loss).

Regardless, all the CI systems that I've seen available for the 07+ Camry routes the piping directly where our hybrid motor is located, so that the inlet/filter ends up directly behind the driver side foglight opening. (I actually looked into this modification myself.) Check out the installed pics of the Fujita CI and imagine the routing in your hybrid engine bay:

The only option you have is a SRI which can sit where the current airbox is located, but that doesn't give you the same type of air as the CI.

K&N p/n 69-8610TTK cold air intake kit for Camry 2.4L
Low restriction with heat shield, uses original air mass sensor, no
re-programing needed.

I have not tried it yet, I know the K&N pleated air filters work well, the gain in power is advertised @ 14.26 hp, no report on effiency increase.

If anyone has tried it let us know how it works.

It Just replaces the original air box & air cleaner, no modifications

Have you looked inside your hybrid engine bay, compared it to an I-4 engine bay, and looked at an installed picture of the I-4 K&N?

See installed K&N pic here on the last page of the installation manual:
http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInst...69-8610TTK.pdf
Put that side-by-side with this picture:
http://z.about.com/d/alternativefuel..._enginebay.JPG

If you can figure out how to reposition the hybrid electric motor so that the K&N can fit in that same location, please send me installed pictures of your car! I'm sure it can be done if you weld a few new motor mounts for the electric motor, reposition some of the fluid wells, etc. Probably could do it for $3k or less!!!

The replacement K&N air filter gives no gain in perceived power (I don't care what the dyno says) and does not affect fuel efficiency positively or negatively. The only gain I have seen is monetary, since I don't have to spend money to replace my air filters every 10k at $15/each.

Possible, but the only product will be more engine noise.

The TCH air intake is at the grille, going into the air box. The so-called CAI actually loses the plumbing that comes in from above the grille, so, if anything, the intake charge will be hotter. Given that the Atkinson cycle engine is effectively smaller than the nominal displacement (loses roughly 1/6 the cylinder volume due to late valve closing), the air filter and associated plumbing isn't where the pressure drop is happening, as they're sized for the 'normal' 2.3 (and even for that engine, the filter area and size of plumbing is fairly generous).

The CAI is most effective at making more noise and reducing the money in your wallet. For the TCH especially, it's exceedingly unlikely to produce any effect other than that.
