Spotting Other TCH's...

As I commute , I see many Camry LE's but very few Hybrids or SE's.

Sometimes it's hard to see what version of Gen6 Camry I glimpse when driving but I've gained a few keys to determining what model of Camry.

The rare SE's have fog lights like the LE may have , but the side molding is a key and they always have the rear spoiler. Very few LE's have the spoiler but I've seen several that did. Haven't seen a TCH with a rear spoiler but I'm sure they exist...

Anyway the clues I look for to see if I spot another rare TCH are : The non-body color front grille is my first look , then the side Hybrid metal emblems , then the wheels , and finally the small synergy emblem on the rear. That's about it as far as I know , with the side Hybrid emblem being the best quick look...I also usually quess correctly the model by noting the drivers speed vs. posted limit.

Share any other clues you all see regarding model differences while driving around... I have noticed several Gen 6 Camry's (not TCH's) that don't have my rear LED tail lights. Is there a year where the rear LED tail lights became standard or is that also a model tell ? ...

I've always understood the LED tail lights to be unique to the TCH.

Look at the tail lights themselves. The TCH has the inside portion clear, the rest of the camrys have a half clear/half red taillight on the trunklid portion of the light.

Cool , Now I know to look at the rear tail lights as another tell for other driving TCH owners. I do like the rear LED look , especially at night...

The LED taillights are, from what I understand, standard since day one of the TCH. Same for the chrome grill (spotted a car on the highway going the opposite direction and saw the grill reflect sunlight).
What is this about speed? I get passed by TCH drivers and I pass some others....

Looks like the best quick spotting of TCH's is grille for front and tail lights for rear. I still probably do the most quick looks using the side emblem.

Regarding speed of different models : as an extreme commuter I see lots of Camry's - The SE's speed at 20 over posted , the LE's speed at 10-15 over posted and the TCH's speed the least , usually at Posted or 4-5 over. Not that these speeding points are fixed , and there are exceptions , but my viewing database from the slow lane is as mentioned...

Gen6

In my area there a lot of non TCH with chrome grills and led tail lights and a lot TCH with fog lights so its getting hard to tell.

noticing this is definitely the easiest way to spot a TCH. once you see it side by side with a regular camry, youll notice it every time in the future.

Here's something to throw you off....Now try to find the rare CE models. They look exactly like LE but they have a keyhole on the outside front passenger door handle. As far as my 5 speed though, I don't think you can tell without looking inside or you see me rolling backwards.
