In may, I bought four used, 16 inches, 2005 original Camry aluminium wheel, intending to use it, in winter, on my 2008 TCH. In november, the Toyota dealer told me the front rims wont fit on my car. The bolts pattern is ok, but it seems that the brake calibers are too close of the rims (to my dismay!). Is it right? The front brake assembly are bigger on a TCHybrid? Giving the installation of balancing weight pieces, the distance between calibers and rims woud give an unsafe condition, according to the dealer. Is he right?
Thanks

Did YOU dismount one of your wheels and try to mount your one of your new wheels yourself? Or did you just rely on the dealers word that they would not fit??

As I'm not a camry specialist, and neither a car specialist myself, I cannot confirm what the car dealer told me, to say the 2005 camry rims I bought wouldnt fit on my camry 2008 TCH because of the brake assembly being too close to the rim.
Let pretend that you just had a flat tire on the front of your new Hybrid. Take the bumper jack out of the trunk and place it in the proper area to remove a flat tire on the front (look up the correct location in your owners manual). Next before you jack the wheel completely off the ground, loosen the lug nuts. Continue jacking now until the tire is off the ground. Now remove the lug nuts as instructed in the owners manual and remove the wheel and tire from the car. Take your new wheel that you purchased and place it onto the bare axle and install the lug nuts hand tight. Now turn the wheel slowly to see it clears the brake calipers and any other parts of the axle assembly. If it does you can now remove your new wheel and reinstall your standard wheel that you just removed. Just reverse (as stated in your owners manual) the above and lower the car to the ground and return the jack to the trunk.........................
Now you will know for sure that the wheels you purchased will fit your car.

I think it should fit.
I put snow tires on my girlfriend's TCH using my 06 solara factory wheels.
The bolt pattern, dimensions are exactly the same like her original wheels.
I think fron looking at the frame/chassis, suspension components and craddle, gen 5 and gen 6 camry are very similar (I compared the solara with TCH side by side, could not tell any difference under there).
