09 Camry Hybrid Passive locking

Is anyone aware if it is possible to program your computer on the 2009 Hybrid Camry to automatically lock the doors after 30 seconds without you doing it manually?

Put it gear and they lock on their own.

I'm guessing the OP is asking from the perspective of after the car is parked and turned off.

when you are not in the car.

I mean if you park the car and walk away. Can you set the computer to lock the car in case you forget to.

No, not unless you install an aftermarket alarm system.

Which aftermarket alarm system would do that?

Take your pick- most aftermarket systems offer passive locking. However, you really have to ask yourself this question: Do you really want an aftermarket shop to install an alarm system on such a highly complex car?

Also: If you have an aftermarket alarm, you'll have to actually take your fob out of your pocket to disarm the system. (Which completely defeats the purpose of the Smartkey)

If I were you, I'd just get into the habit of pressing the little black button on the door handle after shutting the door.

The downside of this is that it doesn't work on my '98 pickup! In fact it is such a pain to get into the truck, put on seat belt, then realize my keys are in my pocket!

On the other hand, the old trick of putting your keys on top of an item so you remember to bring the item with you failed me. We went to a friend's house after dinner with them. I put my keys on top of the leftovers in the refrigerator. when we left, my wife got to passenger side at the same time as I got to driver side so her key was the one that (unknowingly) unlocked my door. Then I started the car and drove home (while my key sat in friend's refrigerator). They called and said "You forgot your keys!" Never would have happened with the pickup.

On the other hand we didn't like it that when ever you stopped and turned off the car, the whole car unlocked automatically. We only wanted the drivers side to unlock automatically, which was not possible re-programming it at the dealers, so we got it where none of it auto unlocked and all we have to do is open drivers door or push the unlock button on the drivers door to unlock the whole car.
