Front door courtesy light

Hello,
I'm new to this website and would like to introduce myself. I recently purchased a Camry Hybrid and have one question. The courtesy light on my driver's side door does not illuminate (bulb is ok) and the system does not recognize the door is open (no red open door symbol on gauge cluster). Does anyone know what is wrong with this?

I can take it into the dealer, but if it is something like a fuse, then I would rather do it myself.

thanks.

Sounds like the switch in the door but no matter what, it should be a warranty issue.

Check the switch in the overhead. It may be in the off position

Here is a useful site for those not inclined to look in their manual or have looked but missed something.
