Affects of not using TCH for extended periods

Did a search on this and could not find anything..

Let's say you go on vacation for 2-3 weeks... thus the TCH is sitting in the garage unused. Are there any negative affects that anyone is aware of?

Is there a slow discharge of energy from the batteries?
Is there a way of keeping the batteries charged up?
Is there a difference between keeping the car idle in the summer (hot) vs. winter (cold) months?

I've let my 2007 TCH sit for just over 2 weeks in the winter and for 3 weeks in the summer with no ill effects.

Think how long it sat on the dealers lot, I'm sure 2 weeks won't do any harm!

The Green Hybrid site has some discussion of this question. The summary is that there are no negative effects from not using the car for a few weeks.

We have left our 2007 TCH in the garage (unstarted, of course) for several weeks several different times with no noticeable effects. Our record is five weeks or so, with at least three stints of three weeks. It started right up and ran fine in each case; all of the electronics were fully functional immediately.
