2007 Camry Question

Hi everyone:

I am new to the Camry forum and in need of your assistance. My 2007 Camry Hybrid was in an accident with a deer and a fair amount of damage was done. The sensor for the ABS was broken off. The sensor for the ABS is part of the main engine wiring harness and costs about $2100 plus labor to repair. My insurance company says that the harness does not need to be replaced, rather just a PIGTAIL soldered in place. I want to know if:

1. Can this/should this be done?
2. Is this legal as it is part of the ABS/braking system on the car?
3. Will this void the manufacturers warranty?

I am fighting with my insurance company to have them replace the entire harness as opposed to just "putting a bandaid in place, as the car is only 2 years old.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance everyone.

Is it the speed sensor?

What does your Factory Service Manual say is the correct procedure?

The speed sensor (front, left or right) is $150 + shipping.

The brake control module is $1,177 + shipping.

I have found out that it is the ABS Sensor. I have pushed on my Insurance company hard enough that it looks like they are going to replace the entire main engine wiring harness to the tune of $2100 plus labor instead of putting in a Pigtail for the ABS Sensor.
