09 TCH Wont Start Showed Check VSC

I just bought a new 09 Toyota Camry Hybrid, and now the second day after buying it I go out to leave and the car won't start and shows 'Check VSC System'. Turned it off, tried starting it again and got the same thing.

The car is 2 DAYS OLD!

Took our other car where I was going and when I got back tried it, and it started just fine.

Is this what I have to expect from this car?
I am playing phone tag with the dealership at the moment.

Absolutely not! Is there something amiss with your car, yes.

Get it checked out and enjoy your new ride. If you feel like the selling dealer is not taking care of you, go to another dealer. Your warranty is good at ANY Toyota dealer in North America.

Dealership

The service guy at the dealership said if there is not a light or anything on now that there is nothing they can do.

His words were, "you can bring it in, but without a light or anything on it will be a waste of your time"

I asked if it was logged in the cars computer or something that they could check and he said no.

It is really worry some to me that I have only had the car 2 days and this is happening.

Everyone I talked too asked if I had the brake pressed in all the way.
I think I did... I had it enough that the car did anything.

Could not having it pressed in all the way cause this to show?

Also, when starting the car, do I need to wait until the gas engine kicks in, to start going?
I did get a message to make sure it was in park when starting, the first time. (it was in park when I started it, but then quickly changed it to reverse)

The ECU will store codes from any problem that sets trouble codes and a dealer can read them even when a warning light/message is not showing. Try again with your dealer or call a second one.

When starting the car, it has to be in Park, press the brake and then the start button, when the Ready light is on put it in gear and drive off. If the battery is not too low and you are gentle with the accelrator you can get about 5 seconds before the ICE fires up. There is a great FAQ for new owners at GreenHybrid.com http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f...q-2-2-a-16852/
