Some questions about TCH

Hello,

I'm getting a TCH 07 soon and I thought I'd ask what are the main things to look for in a used TCH? The car is tested and it appears that it didn't have any major accidents in the past ( the chassis is fine ).

What should I look for? How can I know that the battery still have life in it?

Also a question that was on my mind earlier, Will the TCH continue to run on the gas engine if the hybrid battery should ever go dead?

Would appreciate some tips here.. Thanks a lot

How many miles are on the car? The bottom line is the hybrid system, batteries, electric motor and inverters are warrantied for 100,000 miles. The drive train to 50,000 miles.

Therefore, if the vehicle is in good condition, not wrecked as you indicated, it is likely a good car.

around 80,000 mile.

Is there anything I can do to check the electrical battery health?

Also, will the TCH continue to run on the gas engine if the hybrid battery should ever go dead?

Thanks,

There are diagnostic tests that can be run, but they will merely detect if the battery has failed, or is marginal.

If the traction battery fails completely, the car will not move, as the inverter and the electric motors are 'off-line'. Sudden complete failure is not very likely, with warning of sub-par performance likely a good long time before 'shut-down'.

If your state subscribes to the California standards, the warranty is up to 150K or so miles; the rest is near the 100

The hybrid version of the '07 Camry enjoys a higher reliability than the gas engine only version.

Dealer told me that the hybrid battery had an 8 year warranty so you should be ok.
