Built-in navi in 2009 TCH has text to speech?

Hi!

I just bought a used 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid with navigation.

I am still learning about all the settings and controls. One thing I can't
figure out - how to enable text to speech in the navigation unit?

I went through the manual twice, but could not find any way to do so.

Can this navigation unit actually speak street names? I hope it can.
My wife's 2007 Honda has a built-in navi with text to speech.
It would be quite a disappointment if a 2009 model does not have this feature.

If the navi does feature TTS, how can I enable it?

Thanks!

No, no TTS.

It can speak highway names (like "I-10" or "CA-101") but that is about it for names.

Mine (2007) pronounces the freeway names (mostly).

Sometimes it will say "the current freeway" instead of "I-70".

I like how they programed the voice on "hundreds" type roads.

My Camry says "Bear left onto Highway 2-eighty-eight" and my TTS TomTom says " Enter Highway two hundred eighty eight"

The Camry's pronunciation is how I would pronounce it.

Angry

Thanks for the responses. Sadly, they confirm that the 2009 Camry navi
does not have TTS. I am disappointed. Even Honda had it back in 2007.

One of the crappiest GPS systems in the world. I use it only to supplement my 7 year old Garmin Ique because the IQue has old maps. I can't imagine how they had the nerve to charge me anything for the NAV GPS.
