Accelerator sticking on 2009 TCH

Accelerator sticking on 2009 TCH. Anyone else had this happen? We have 8000 miles and wife said one day it stuck and really scared her. She got it to stop. I was wondering if pulling the gearshift into the B position would disengage it, like it does the cruise control? Yes I know we all have a recall for other then floor mats for accelerator sticking. This apparently covers all Camry models 07 to 10. Oh while you are at dealership have them check some kind of air or fuel line that comes off the gas cap area we had that and it took weeks to get the replacement part. They said a recall would be going out.Ours showed up under the check engine light.

This would be very unusual for your car to do this. Have your dealer check your pedal. You should have the Japan made Denso pedal on your TCH, not the one that is under recall.

What kind of idiot comes to a website to get this taken care of instead of calling a dealer. Next thing you know someone who is having a heart attack is going to post on highbloodpressurenation.com

Your car is not effected by the current "recall". No hybrid models are currently part of the accelerator campaign.

Yeah! If that happened to me, I'd drive straight to the dealership after stopping to pick up my attorney at the legal offices of Dewey, Cheatem & Howe.

Our '07 TCH got a recall for possible floor mat/accelerator interference. We have the factory stock mats and there is not the slightest chance they could interfere - unless you unhooked them and purposely kicked them forward so they would bunch.

I could take my valve stem caps off and accidentally choke by putting them in my mouth but would that warrant a recall?

My dealer in Virginia assured me that my Japan made TCH was impacted by the recall. They did replace the pedal with the new one. However, I think based on the latest news that the issue is computer related and the mechanical pedal is just a scapegoat. Latest news reports are that Toyota has known that the issue was software related as far back as 2002.

What I am most angry about is the drastic drop in resale value of my car. I feel like I am stuck in this car that is marketed as safe, yet Toyota has compromised the safety of the car because they refuse to face the real problem because the fix will cost $500+ per vehicle.
