AC fan stopped working

Hi everyone this is my first post. My father has a 07 hybrid bought from USA, one day the engine check light came on. He somewhere read that it turns on after driving some distance dunno exactly how much maybe ~30k miles for maintenance. And to turn it off you need to disconnect your battery. Here's the catch he did that and the check engine light disappear but the AC fan stopped working. Could these things be relevant or it's just a coincidence? Maybe you there to look for the problem or you know how to fix it, please let me now.

He read or remembered wrong on the check engine light................he disconnected the battery before reading the DTC so has no idea of the problem......and now the heater fan doesn't work.....relevant?...coincidence?

If you don't know what you are doing, don't do it.

If the light comes back on and you read the code, you may find out.
