Canada What to do with the dealership

I have recently acquired a new 2010 toyota camry. Because of some workmanship problems of the leather, I had the dealership redo the leather for me. While my car was under their possession, it received a parking ticket. I talked to the dealership and they agreed to pay for the parking ticket, however, they were not able to give me an explanation on why the car was in that location on that day. Having that being said, it means the car could be driven to that location for personal purpose.
I am very upset with what happened, but obviously don't know what to do. Can anyone give me some suggestions on this please?
Thank you in advance!

Did you take note of how many miles the car had travelled when you dropped it off at the dealership? I'd get a look at the location written on the parking ticket and find out what business etc is located there (either by looking it up on Google Earth, street view, or visiting it in person. Perhaps they took the car there to get the work done to the seats, or maybe they were using your car for personal purposes as you mentioned.

If the location of the business or place where the parking ticket was issued is completely irrelevant to the work that was being carried out then I would demand an explanation as to why the car was there in the first place.

Thank you for your reply, Kiwi-Coralla! I actually already did what you have mentioned, and the dealership told me that the leather shop is in another city (not the one that the car get ticketed). I did demand an explanation, but the dealership failed to give me one. The manager told me they couldn't figure why, but ask me to accept his apology. At this point, I am not sure if I should go further with them, or just to leave it. What do you guys think?

You're very welcome. A lot of people probably wouldn't care, as long as they weren't pay for the parking ticket, but it's the principal of the matter in my opinion. I know if it was my car I'd be damn annoyed if I found out someone had driven it somewhere for no apparent reason, especially from a trusted place such as a Toyota dealership. I suppose there's not a lot you can do in this situation. As long as they didn't clock or too many kms and your car isn't making any strange noises then I'd probably leave it as it is. Although in saying that, I'd be inclined to tell the manager that you'd like to be compensated with a free service or two in the future. If he can't give you a decent explanation then I think that would be the least he could do

Kiwi-coralla, thank you for the reply. I was thinking if I should ask for a compensation, but don't know how, so that I won't sound greedy, hahahaa!! But I'll give it a try.
Thank you so much!! You are great!!

I guess that I can be counted in the camp of people that would not care. Yes, it is rude but is not worth building up a head of steam about it. The dealer paid the ticket, no damage; I would just let it go.

In this case your are definitely in the right, but I do not see that any further compensation is due. I am fairly certain that the person who took the car out has already been admonished and/or sacked.
