ABS Engagin (Pulsating) After CV Axle Replacement

I have a 2007 Camry Hybird with 63,000 miles. I get my oil changes and most maintenance done at a local Firestone. During a recent oil change they noticed the left front CV was leaking and recommended a replacement. I had the axle replaced. In the three years I have had the car the ABS have engaged maybe once. The first time after the axle change that I had to brake hard the ABS engaged (pulsating) on the left front only. After that, each time I braked (no matter how hard) the ABS engaged. I took the car back the Firestone. They put the car on the lift, made sure everything was tight and drove it and could not get the problem to occur again. I drove it home and after braking a few times, the problem returned. I took it back to the shop two days ago and they replaced the axle. They drove the car around and braked hard and tried to make the problem happen again and could not. Tonight I picked up the car and drove it around the block some and braked hard a few times. No problems. Yeah! About seven miles later when braking to pull in my neighborhood, the problem occurred again. I have searched the internet and this forum and there is not much information. The little I can find infers that a speed sensor may be malfunctioning or that there axle may have a different number of teeth or something else to trigger the ABS due to a perceived issue with the wheel spin.

I would like to be armed with a recommendation to the shop when I take it back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
