2008 Camry Hybrid Security

Today I had an appointment with Toyota dealer for a remote starter/security installation. I received a phone call from them saying that the 2008 Camry hybrid has a puch button start and the factory security will conflict with the after market security system. So I asked how good the factory security system is? would the alarm system go off on my car? They said the factory alarm system goes off when any of the windows are broken, or the door is locked when censor is not close to the car and it just doesn't have the bump alarm system.

I know I get a red security light inside the car when its turned off and locked. Does it really have an alarm system built-in? I really don't know letme know if you have any info about 2008 Camry factory security. How it works and all that.

The factory system on the TCH only includes the panic button as far as an alarm goes. None of the theft-deterrent stuff, such as going off when the window is broken or if a door is open with the alarm is armed. At least as far as I am aware. I spend a while not long ago trying a combination of alarm arming and door opening and closing to try to get the alarm to go off. Got nothing. So for my car, the flashing light just indicates that the door is closed.

I could be very wrong though and that there is some malfunction.

I thought it did when I first bought it. I had assumed since it come with the sophisticated SmartKey system, that it would include an alarm, but I was wrong. Such a sad part of decontenting and cost savings. My 2001 L300 beater came with a factory alarm.
