Service for Used Camry Hybrid 2007

Hello,

I recently purchased a used 2007 Camry Hybrid from WA and have imported into Vancouver, BC. I've had the car for around 1.5 months now and know I'll have to bring it in sooner or later to a mechanic or shop to do a regular 6 month checkup.

Do you guys recommend going to the Toyota Dealership Service Centre or go to a local mechanic to get it serviced? I'd prefer the later as I don't want to pay an arm and a leg everytime I bring my car in for servicing. But I'm weary because the car is a Hybrid andy don't know if a normal mechanic would know how to service a Hybrid System.

Does anyone know any Vancouver mechanics?

The preventative maintenance schedule for the Camry Hybrid isn't all that different than a normal Camry. Your regular mechanic, assuming that he/she is fully trained on modern automobiles, should be able to perform the maintenance on your car. Looking at the maintenance schedule (available at Toyota.com or in your owner's manual supplement), the only additional maintenance task seems to be inspecting the inverter coolant at 15,000 mile increments. Check your schedule for the version with KM- as I'm too lazy to do the conversion.

Using your own mechanic will not void any warranty either- just keep your receipts to prove that you are actually doing maintenance.

Congratulations on your purchase.
