Remote Start Question

I have a 2007 Camry Hybrid that I bought just last spring. I would like to add the remote start to it. It does not have the Nav system or the security system, just the smart key (push button to start - no keyhole).

I requested one part number from a dealer (don't have it handy) but they said it updated to PT398-33070. Later, he said that part was no longer available, and that it is now PT398-03100. I now have that part, but it clearly says it is for a 2010, as does everything I find online.

Does anyone know if this part actually will fit my TCH?

Thanks!

I just had the PT398-03100 installed by a Toyota dealer in my '11 for $550.

I just bought a 08 Camry Hybrid with a NAV system and JBL stero. I want to buy a remote start as well, but I went by the Toyota dealership here in my town and they told me that the OEM remote starter VIP was discontinued. Does anyone have a reason why and what would be my alternatives if I went non factory? thanks.

I installed the one for the 2011 model on my 2007 TCH with smartkey system, and it works just fine. Different part number, but it works fine. I installed it myself, following the directions found online, but had to go to a Toyota dealership to have them hook up their scanner to it to activate it - that cost $95 (rip off - took him 10 min), but it works fine. Don't forget to get the hood switch if your car doesn't already have one for a security system - it doesn't come with the remote start kit - but everything else does.

hopmedic, thanks for the reply. Where did you buy your remote starter and what was the price if you don't mind me asking. I can probably find a audio/video store that specializes in installations to put it in for me, because I'm not good at stuff like that, but I'm willing to pay someone to do it right the first time. thanks.

Ordered from ricetoyota.com. A Visit to your Toyota dealer will be required to activate it. Not sure what they'd charge for full installation. It probably took me about 2-3 hours, without really knowing the car. Having done it now, I could do it a lot faster if I had to do it again.
