Power-Assisted Variable-Assist Power Steering

I can't find anything in manuals about this. Is this all electric? Is there any fluid to keep full? Novice seeks more info.

Thanks

I was just inquiring because as I pulled out of a parking space the other day in all the ice and snow the P/S light came on and I lost power steering. I pulled back in and turned the engine off and on and the light went away and have not had any trouble since.

you have electrically assisted power steering with rack and pinion.
normally, hydraulic assistance in conventional power steering is created by hydraulic fluid pressure coming from PS pump.
you have electronically controlled power assistance powered by the car batteries. sorry for the pun.
so, if you have electrical failure, you will have power assist failure too.
car is still drivable/steerable, just requires much more effort to steer.
