Set Miantenance Light ON

I just had a oil change done on my 2008 TCH. However, the dealer missed programming the maintenance light to come on at the next 5000 miles. How can I program it myself? The manual covers deactivation of this light but not how to program it to come on.

Making the light go out automatically resets it to another 5000 miles. Light will come on briefly at start after 4500 and stay on at 5000.

The light is currently off. I just want to ensure that it comes back on at the next 500 miles.

If you mean 5000 miles I think that's what I already said.

Spp is correct. the Maintenance light is defaulted at 5k miles. All the dealer ship did was turn it off/aka reset it.

If your car is equipped with Navigation, there are actually two areas that must be reset.

The first is the one that triggers the "Maintenance Req'd" text and triangle within the info center in the instrument cluster. This is the one that is defaulted to 5,000 miles once reset. The dealer usually covers this for you. If the light is off when you pick up the car, then this has already been done and you can be confident that it will nag you again in 4500 miles, then stay on after 5,000.

The second is within the Maintenance sections on the INFO part of the navigation menu. This one has a setting for the Engine Oil and Oil Filter separately. Do not ask me why it is not just "Oil Change" since they are always together. This one is always neglected by the dealer and you need to remember to set it yourself when you pick up the car (if you care about being warned on the nav screen).

Personally, I find both of them to be unnecessary as this car is easy to remember to change every 5,000.
