Question 2011 hybrid sticky steering; cruise control

I have a three month old TCH. The steering is very sticky - not continously smooth - at both low and high speeds and some what less sticky feeling at intermediate speeds. Is this normal? dangerous? It seems slowly to be getting worse, but it could be that I'm just much more aware of it now that I've identified why I think the car doesn't drive well.

I have another question re cruise control. I live in So. Texas - no mountains, only gently rolling hills. My Saturn's cruise control was spot on - never varied by even 1 mph unless I went up to the Hill country. My TCH's control varies by what appears to be 1-2 mph on the ups and downs on the local freeway. Is this normal? (If so, I'd suggest they buy the Saturn patent!) If not, I'll have the dealer check it at my 10,000 mile check up - just had the 5,000 mile one.

Thanks!

yes, it is not spot on with cruise. mine does worse then that. cruise works great on level - best mpg, period. but on even slightest hills, it's better off with foot on pedal. slows down-revs; slows down-revs... sorry, engine does not rev when it picks up. mpg drops down and MG2 kicks in.
on mine, speed is 4 miles higher than real speed. gps does not lie. shows 70, going 66.

why wait till 10K? take her in and let 'm have at it. steering, i mean. PS assist is electronic, so it's something in the Matrix realm.
