On occasion after car has been idling say like in stop and go traffic, the charge level drops down to the purple lines. After very little driving it comes right back up. Is this something I need to be concerned about?

yes, send Toyota a letter to change color to cosmic teal. just kidding. no, it should drop down to 2 last bars on the nav display, them being purplish. thereafter, ICE should kick in and charge the battery to at least mid level.
i had this figured while back. that battery lasts about 20 minutes in stop and go traffic, then ICE starts and charges it. no worries.
