just saw this. not sure yet, how true this is, it is from a fellow poster place else. but he has his transmission replaced under warranty, so he might have had first hand info on this:
in California, and the Hybrid Warranty is 150,000 miles or 10 years, which ever comes first. Currently CARB states are California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, NewYork, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. CARB states have the longer warranty period if the car was originally purchased and is operated in a CARB state.
considering that I am in Seattle, I like sound of this. never new WA is a CARB state though. so, it needs further investigation.
yes, it is true:
For CARB states…
The hybrid battery warranty is longer, 10 year/150,000 mile warranty.

The HV battery may have longer coverage under emissions warranty. Refer to applicable Owner's Warranty Information booklet for details." In CARB states (California etc) the battery warranty is for 10 years, 150,000 miles. Toyota vary the warranty dependent on emissions requirements (CARB) and no doubt market conditions.
but it appears extended warranty is for HV battery only, not for entire drive.
