Leaving CD's in Changer

My Camry has the built-in 6 disk changer. The owners manual says leaving the CD's in the unit "For Extended Periods of Time" can damage the unit. Does anyone have any idea just what this means? How long have you left CD's in your unit without anything breaking? thanks.

interesting. must be a different system from what i have as a cd-changer in nav unit. neither my manual, nor my wife's Rx300 6 disc player mentions anything of this nature. she takes cd-s out maybe once a year?
they also tell you to run a/c to cool car before cd player use, if it's very hot outside.

sounds like attorneys had way too much to say in those manuals....

My TCH is now 4 years old and the radio has 4 or 5 (max) CD's in it from when it was new. This is the factory CD radio without navigation.

It was replaced a few years ago due to the frame with lights being off for a while then would come back on. It was in warranty or was a TSB on the radio itself. I can't recall which. The CD player has always worked flawlessly.

Mine may have the same instruction about leaving CD's in the player for long periods of time. I have not read the instruction booklet since the car was new.
