Console Rattle/squeak - a new one?

I have read several threads on this and other forums. Nothing addresses my problem directly. I have a noise, rattle, sqeek whatever you want to call it coming from the right side of my center console. It's driving me crazy and only flaw in otherwise perfect 2010 TCH

The noise comes from the top console trim piece along the edge just outside the cup holder. Noise stops minute I put my finger on it but can't get it to go away - Help!

Here is what I need, a link to pics or instructions on how to remove that top trim piece that runs around the console between armrest and the front vertical part of dash. it looks like at a minimum I have to remove the shifter plate. I know how to do that. what I need is help removing the console top. thanks.

Splais,

Try the steps in this link. I did the same thing to mine by installing some felt pads under the console plate and boom! Squeak is gone.

Solution: Rattle/Squeak in center console of 07 Camry

There's a similar solution at this other link... down near the bottom of the page and following pages there are some great photos as well:

Gen6 Rattles, crackles, and noises

Hope that helps you out with your particular issue.

Regards ~

thanks, should have posted here. Got instructions off another thread. all fixed. Actually turned out to be both console and console lid. Funny how little things can drive you crazy.

also, interesting example of how selective human hearing can be. i can have music roaring, and will still hear every slightest unusual sound from anywhere in the car. my wife, on the other hand, asks me - is this safe sound? - and if said so, phases it out and does not hear it at all.

I have a rattling sound coming from the right passenger side of the console around the glove box area when driving on streets i.e. not smoothly paved roads...
