The "Plasma Cluster" refers to the air conditioning. This is in the owners manual.

Both versions of the different radio's in these cars use LCD screens. Both can be damaged by impact, unshielded magnetic devices and excessive heat.

Are the A/C screens affected too or just the Radio?

I don't have an answer for you, but this happened to me also in my '08 TCH. However, it was only for the duration of one trip; it went back to normal after restarting the car (turning the radio off and back on didn't help). The radio functioned just fine, but I couldn't read a thing on the display. In my case when it happened, the temp control screen was normal, it only impacted the radio. I didn't bother to have the dealer check it out because it went away.

Do you have the Nav system? Is that the screen you are referring to?

This is somewhat common on the non-nav radio display. If it happens often, it's probably on its way out. Do a search on it.

The screen on my 2008 TCH would do similar things every now and then--random letters, faint display.... It was worse when the car had been parked in the rain. Since it was intermittent, I had to wait until it was screwing up on a Saturday, then I took it to the dealer, who confirmed that it was bad, and it was replaced under warranty.
