Mine doesn't do it. Where does the squeak come from? The pedal area or from outside?

sounds coming from outside. looks like noise is coming from the abs actuator when you step on the brakes.

I test drove a 2012 TCH on Saturday (the XLE version) and heard a small tone when braking. It sounded like a high pitched sound which I am assuming has to do with charging the battery. The radio was off and I wasn't talking too much with the sales person. If the radio was on, I doubt I would have heard it.

Is this 'normal' for a hybrid? I'm new to hybrids and was interested in this car.

Thanks.

The high pitch sound is typically the inverter and is most noticeable under braking. Note that the 2012 Camry Hybrid also has the Vehicle Proximity Notification System.

welcome to the club.

it's normal. as in - nothing's wrong with your brakes. it's metal choice for rotors.

you have 2 choices:

1. de-glaze rotors; will work for about 20 000 miles, then it comes back
2. replace rotors with aftermarket ones and stay away from ceramic brake pads.
