Blu-Logic factory installed on LE Hybrid? Differences to Bluetooth?

I'm trying to decide between the Camry LE/XLE Hybrid. One of the differences according to the brochure is that the LE comes with Blu-Logic and the XLE comes with Steering-Wheel-Controlled-Bluetooth.

I thought Blu-Logic was a dealer installed option? Yet the brochure presents it like it comes from the factory with Blu-Logic. Anyone know what's up with this? Are dealers just automatically installing Blu-Logic on all LE Hybrids that come into their stock? Or are the LE Hybrids coming from the "factory" with Blu-Logic already installed?

Quality wise, is there any difference between Blu-Logic and the Steering-Wheel-Controlled-Bluetooth version? I'd appreciate hearing about any feedback/experiences anyone has had with Blu-Logic vs the Steering-Wheel-Bluetooth version. Thanks

I can't answer your question but I can tell you that the JBL audio-integrated Bluetooth has a pretty bad microphone. The person on the other side of the line always can't hear me well.

I had the Bluetooth on my old 2007 SE V6 and now on the 2008 Hybrid. Same thing.

Perhaps this Blu-Logic thing is better. Aftermarket things usually integrate poorly but if you did get it working, they almost always do the job better than anything factory-installed.

I thought the bluetooth mic in my Prius was bad until we changed phones then it sounded great to the other end.

Blu-Logic is installed either at the Port or at the dealer so you're right in that Toyota is essentially adding the accessory as "standard" equipment.

The factory bluetooth is integrated into the audio system (headunit and speakers). I don't have much exposure to Blu-Logic but it appears that it's simply a unit with hang up/answer buttons.

The factory unit at least allows phonebook transfer, call display, much easier pairing (if you have the nav, it's paired onscreen rather than through voice commands). You can dial by name, number, speed dial, redial, caller list, onscreen phonepad and last called ("call back").

I have factory-installed Bluetooth in my '07 RAV4. I've never had a problem with people on the other end of a call understanding me, but the Bluetooth seems to have a lot of trouble when I try to "dial by number." I've tried talking to it every which way -- loud, normal voice, up toward the roof, straight forward -- without much success. I'd appreciate any hints anyone can give me.

I'm using a Gen 6 nav system (2011-2011) and the number recognition is pretty darn good. If I'm navigating to a destination via phone number, I can speak fairly quickly and it'll catch all the numbers.

I'm not sure what to do with a Gen 5 system (2006-2009). Just make sure all the windows are closed as I find wind noise is disruptive to the system.
