Aux audio jack, Inop?

Hello,
I just bought a 2008 Camry Hybrid used. It has the JBL stereo with 6 disc changer, The problem I have is I can not get the Aux. audio input to work.
I have the mp3 player turned on and nothing happens when I push the Aux. button or cycle thru the modes? I have looked at the plug at the back of the jack and it is secure, (I have tried with the CD changer full and empty)
Any Ideas?

another one? we just had a blown aux jack thread not so long ago. do some search on it, you should find it.
also, having JBL myself, and now using that jack for streaming, keep in mind that really have to crank volume up to hear anything. it's some sort of high resistance or whatever input, so whatever you have plugged in must be roaring into it.
clean it with electronic parts cleaner. if it was never used, it prolly oxydized. then stick jack in and move it back n for sevral dozen times, just to clean stuff off.
btw, this thing works very well with original JBL:

Re: Aux Jack Failure - 2007 Non-NAV TCH
Well, I got my AUX port replaced at the dealer, covered under the Toyota Platinum warranty. Otherwise it was $110 for the part and just under $30 for labor. I think this was the first time I used the Platinum warranty, 5 1/2 years after I bought the car.

One last thing. The dealer told me there are 2 AUX ports now for the 2007 TCH. One part is identical to what came in mine. Then there is an upgraded part designed to fix static in the AUX connection. They went with the original part because it was on-hand and the upgraded part was over a month on back-order. I only learned this after the fact, but so far I only hear a bit of background hiss when the head unit volume is turned up very loud while the music is paused.

Anyway, not sure if this will help anyone....

mine is also not working, I just removed it to make sure the rear cable was connected ok. I just want to verify that its the port itself that needs to be replaced (part number 86190-53010? here is the best price ive managed to find so far http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/t...190-53010.html

I'm also wondering if any of the non factory devices like the bluetooth ones they sell on ebay will work with this connection. If I could have wireless bluetooth music vs the factory aux port for the same price I'd rather do that.

aux has nothing to do with bluetooth. I think, on newer models, you can stream music via bluetooth, as they are capable of it.
if you referring to aux plug in bluetooth adapters, good luck with quality.
I stream music off my phone via aux and aux cable. works fine.

yea I saw some things on ebay that look like they plug into the cable that goes on the back of the AUX input that is prone to failure, and pick up the audio via bluetooth. I was thinking if I could have bluetooth instead of AUX in for less money why not but I'm not positive the cable is the same and your right for a $60 blue tooth audio reciever who knows what the sound quality will be like. I can't believe Toyota can't make such a simple part reliable, then charge $110 for it at the dealership
