Camry HybridDiscussion area for the Toyota Camry Hybrid. Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving Americas favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Internet quotes I got from Boston-area dealers for a basic Hybrid XLE with floor mats ranged from $1300 to $1700 below invoice. For a loaded XLE with MSRP of $32,340 and invoice of ~$30K, that would be $28,300 to $28,700 before taxes and fees. (That's without the $1K loyalty cash that appears not to be offered in your area.)
I hadn't heard that Christmas to New Year's was a bad time to buy a car. If a dealer has sales or customer satisfaction targets that he can make big bucks for meeting, whether the period is monthly, quarterly or annual, it's likely to end on 12/31.
Yea very true about the end of December, I was floored when i read it because i would think that would be the BEST week to buy cars haha. But that may have just been one member's opinion. I would think at the end of the day, business is business and car dealers are in the business of moving cars.
As far as the prices, those are good prices. Something to remember is those are "e-prices" which do not include "destination charge" and one other charge. For me, my "e-price" was 20488. My preferred dealer matched it and added those 2 previously mentioned charges and the actual negotiated "car price" was 21650 or so. You will never get the actual "e-price" on a car as the dealers use that as a ploy to get you in the door. My dealer that matched "e-prices" two times in two months did so on both very grudgingly, even after adding the D-charge.

On the contrary, the e-mails I got in response to my requests made it clear that the quote did include the destination charge. Only tax, title, registration, and dealer doc fee (averaging $300 here) were excluded.

At least two Boston dealers state explicitly that they will honor their Internet quotes when you come to the store, with no surprise charges or attempts to renegotiate. (Online customer reviews suggest that they're telling the truth.) I'd think the other dealers would have do likewise in order to get any Internet business (which I've read is an ever-increasing percentage of new-car sales).

Thanks for the feedback. Since it's not a killer deal, I think I'll just wait til next year. Did find out that I can extend my lease by the month if need be so I'll just keep an eye out on deals throughout the year.
End of them month is the best time to buy, especially if the dealer is trying to get their number. For some reason the east coast has some of the best prices for hybrids. I recently purchased a Prius Plug-In from Maryland and drove it back to Cali. If the savings are big enough and makes sense you might want to look into that. I would ship it though, seeing you have the time since you already have a car.
I just signed and drove away with an xle hybrid today for $28,988 +TTL.. Total Out the door was $30977.. $0 down , 0% for 36 mos.. It's loaded with nav, leather, moonroof.. No BSM. They're even swapping out the Bridgestones for michelins since I hate Bridgestones.. Shop around and you'll find the right dealer that will want to make a sale..
maybe they changed tires bcus they still had wiggle room to give away probably 700 in a set of michelins? Either way, you got a good deal and the tires you like! win-win! :

They probably just swapped the wheels with another Camry XLE on the lot which came with Michelins on it. I've demanded and gotten wheel swaps on new cars before. If I had known about the switch from Bridgestones to Michelins on the new TCHs when I bought my car I would have demanded a set of Michelins myself.

actually, the sales guy checked his xle stock in the lot and they all had bridgestones.. the manager said he'd have to order a set of michelins and replace them which is why they gave me a loaner until the tires came in.. My only inconvenience is the fact that I have to go back when the wheels are in and swapped out.. Would have wished they had a set on another car, but they didn't..
