well my current lease is up in the summer of next year. hence the decision to get out of it early for an end of year and end of model year opportunity or see what deals are available in the middle of june.
By the way, has toyota ever offered cash back that included hybrids?
Will the 2013 be any different than the 2012? If you need a car now and waiting will not bring better performance or features you want but can not get on a 2012 than go for it. I really don't know if that is a good price.
KBB says $29,448 for zip 46201 if I optioned it correctly.
Although when I check those and uncheck the other accessories, the invoice seems higher than what I saw on the screen at the dealership. I don't know if kbb is using the correct numbers.
truecar.com gave the following numbers for my zip code
Invoice: $29,997
Estimated True Car Price: $30,113
Average Paid: $30,517
I don't need a car now as I'm 2.5 years into my 3 year lease on a 2011 camry se
I know I want a hybrid as my next car though and just want the best deal. None of the changes for 2013 seem that major so curious if the deal now is likely better than the deal in 6 months. Obviously no way to know for sure other than maybe playing the odds.
Hmm I did check the Nav non jbl version maybe I had something else wrong and it took it off. I would wait in that case. The farther into 2013 the cheaper the 2012's that are left will be. You might not find one so well optioned by then though.
at my dealer they only have loaded ones (SE's or XLE's or XLE Hybrids) or base LE's haha. They got my SE (only options is power driver seat, floor mats, and wheel locks) in a couple days before i bought it, and the sales guy was like "yea i dont know why we got this stripped down SE in" lol.
Yea i think if you wait till the end of the month you'll get a better deal, my msrp was 247xx and my pre-tax, etc price was 20488, so 4300 below msrp. i bought it the last day in November. When i called my sales guy that we just bought another car from 2 months prior, he said "whatever you do, come in today bcus its the last day of the month."
That being said, i heard the #1 time NOT to buy a car is right before christmas and between christmas and new years because thats like the #1 car selling week of the year or something. I read that here on TN actually.
EDIT: i'm sorry, my 20488 price was excluding freight and one other bull$hit charge of some type. the full price before tax, tag, bs, bs, bs was 21650, so only like 3100 under MSRP.

I think tis a pretty decent deal but I wouldn't recommend breaking your lease early- aren't there a whole bunch of fees and stuff that can happen if you break early? Know your stuff ahead of time on that if you decide to. I got the lowest quotes from other dealers with no options and they gave me the little options I had free (spoiler and carpets -$400 worth). Don't budge on your bottom line price!

aim for around $3000 under sticker price for the price of the car before taxes and stuff. your already almost there, haggle a couple more hundred dollars and pull the trigger if you feel that you are getting a good deal!

This is what I paid last December. MSRP: $32,274, Invoice: $30,011 My Price: $29,915 -250 (seal the deal instance rebate) + TTL+ Fee or %29,665 + TTL+Fee.
It's a brand new model with only 1 month or so on the market. Darn good deal.
At the time, Toyota also giving out 1000 rebate via Toyotathon.
Internet quotes I got from Boston-area dealers for a basic Hybrid XLE with floor mats ranged from $1300 to $1700 below invoice. For a loaded XLE with MSRP of $32,340 and invoice of ~$30K, that would be $28,300 to $28,700 before taxes and fees. (That's without the $1K loyalty cash that appears not to be offered in your area.)
You probably can't talk one particular dealer down based on Boston prices, but I'll bet you can improve on $29.6K by asking half a dozen dealers for bids, making it clear that you're a serious buyer.
I hadn't heard that Christmas to New Year's was a bad time to buy a car. If a dealer has sales or customer satisfaction targets that he can make big bucks for meeting, whether the period is monthly, quarterly or annual, it's likely to end on 12/31.
Can't speak to whether now or next June is better; timing is always a crapshoot. One thing you'll have in your favor if you wait: the 2013s won't be as hot a ticket in June as the 2012s were a year earlier, as the 2012 was all new and the 2013 is nearly unchanged.
Toyota wants to keep their numbers up -- across the board, for Camrys in general, for hybrids in general, you name it. I'm sure they'll do whatever it takes to move product in the coming year, including dealer subsidies that will enable continued hefty discounts.
