Australia corolla troubles

I have a Toyota Corolla 93 model hatchback on lpg/petrol. As engines on lpg like to burn their valves out it started to miss on one cylinder. I got a mechanic to refurbish the cylinder heads, Stainless steel inserts etc. They did this and when I got it back it was running worse than when I took it in there running on three cylinders. After taking it back and forward numerous times, I'm starting to get a bit peeved off . I was just wanting to know if anyone knows if it is normal when you take the oil filler cap off for it to spurt oil out in a thick spray (like enough to burn your face) because these guys reckon it is normal. Can anyone help me or do the test on their car?
