Hello everyone. Great board you have here.
Background:
I have a remote starter installed on my 98 Avalon. It has a couple of auxillary outputs that will produce a ground on a wire coming from the control box. I am trying to use this ground pulse in conjuction with a relay of some sort to activate the power window down on my driver's door. I am envisioning that the master switch somehow closes a circuit activating the auto down and that with the appropriate relay, i can similarly close said circuit remotely.
Assumptions:
While all other door's window wiring are accessible at the driver's kickpanel, since the driver's window control need only be within the driver's door, splicing must be done at the master switch. If this is the case, it will involve running atleast one wire from the master switch into the passenger compartment where the remote starter's control box is.
Issue:
I can't seem to find which circuit activates the autodown. Here's what I have been able to gather:
Switch in the neutral position:
Switch in the manual down position, continuity marked in red:
Switch in the auto down position, continuity marked in red:
Now, shorting these contacts while the switch is in the neutral position doesn't do anything. The other window switches seem pretty straight forward in that it upon activation 12V is fed to the appropriate circuit. The driver's one seems to have some sort of logic involved as the pins on this switch seem to go to that thin IC to the right. If someone can help me figure this out, or know of a different way of doing it, I would be very appreciative. Or, maybe what I'm trying to do is impossible which may be the case if all switches are tied to ground while in the neutral position. Either way, thanks in advance.
