transmission fluid

how much trans fluid do i need in my 1990 camry , manual , 4cyl ? and is there a specific kind that i need ?

If you drain the fluid from the pan you'll probably drop 2 quarts. Buy 3 in case you need more. I would use MAX Life fluid for older cars but there are many options out there. If you haven't changed the fluid in over 50,000 miles I would be very hesitant to suggest that you change the fluid at all.

Dexron II ATF. IE: auto tranny fluid.

I know its weird since you have a manual tranny, but thats what it uses.

Wow, I messed up on that one. I didn't notice the "manual". Manual transmission on a 3sfe engine is supposed to drain out about 2.7 US quarts. You'll still be good if you got 3 quarts as suggested but you'll use most of it. If you have a different engine repost.

I hate it when I do that....
