Personally i would stay away from stand alone ignitions. I have hurd many stores, and personal experiance, where the screw things up.

Mutli spark something They are a universal stand alone unit. Unless your car is highly modified, save your money.

Ignition upgrades should be one of the later things... it would only be worthwhile if you are running very high compression, forced induction or nitrous.

I have a brospeed header on my 95 5s-fe. I like it a lot. I noticed quite a difference in power and sound. It also brightens up the underside of the hood.

the ignition in Toyotas is very inefficient in the lower rev range. When it hits a certain rev, the secondary coil kicks in.

I'd give the Jacobs Electronics ICE pak a try. Though they recommend copper plugs and to widen the gap with their ignition & controller (open-loop controller)

im using MSD SCI i am doing quite good with them im using them with sparkco 9.5mm wires and iridium plugs mated with MSD blaster SS coil.. it works great also using a free flow exhaust... from intake, header, cat converter, 2.5" pipe and then an HKS hyper muffler... the MSD basically improved my back fire situation... also helped in my fuel consumption... but u will need a transformer from msd for toyota cars... dont go with jacobs!!!! i've seen them.. they are so light feels like they dont got anything in them...

btw u can actually feel the msd when u hit past 3000rpm

humpty
