I was needin new struts, and was wonderin if anyone has ever used a set of KYB GR2's. Let me know. I'd like to know how you felt about them. stiffer than stock?
Lowered my car 1.5 inches with h & r springs, and put on KYB GR2's, they are great. Like pgmomni said, your car will be tighter in turns, but you feel every little bump. Then again it dose not help that my car is lowered too. So far I would say go w/ KYB GR2's.
I put them in my gen 3 all the way around with the stock springs. They were great. Stiffer than stock, VERY stiff the first 1000 miles, but then they lossened up nicely and made the car drive better.
I got them at www.tirerack.com and had a local mechanic install.
Your personal reviews on the GR2s vs stock/original struts?
Don't rate them until they break in. I noticed mine were almost too stiff the day after they were installed. After a month or two (1000 miles +) they were pefect.
I put a total of 50k miles on them, and they were still going strong. They did continue to loosen though. I always wondered what KYB would do on a warranty claim. What do they consider loose enough to replace?
hey i jsut got a ride in my buddys RSX (non-type S), and i like the firmness of that car. Its not as stiff as type-S, but definitely in the sporty feel.
My question is GR2 comparable to the firmness of the RSX?
Trying hard to really decide if I should go with Tokico w/eibach or GR-2 w/eibach, because I have heard that GR-2 may not hold up lowering springs. And also, this is my daily driver want something I can live with.
VVT-I, I've never driven a car with the GR-2's installed but I'll suggest that you consider the suspension setups. A lot more than struts decide how a car feels. Some things to look into are how much you're hitting bump stops in your car, the size of your swaybars vs the size of the swaybars on the RSX, the weight difference and plenty else.
