help! alternator problem. (i think)

I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with a 1999 Toyota Camry. When trying to start it, it only clicks. i charged the battery and it worked..but it quickly died again..leading me to believe that it is the alternator.

Is this my problem?

If so, how can I fix it? I want to buy the part and fix it myself if at all possible. Can anyone explain it for me?

Thank y'all so much -

Stephanie

Charge the battery completely and then have it tested. Check your battery cable connections. You can have your alternator tested also. That way you aren't replacing parts that are not bad.

If its the original 1999 battery, more then likely its dying and about to go belly up. If thats the case, replace the battery.

Although its possible - I doubt the alternator is bad.
