Hey everyone, just seeing if anyone has any interest in a full cold air intake kit for us 3vz's. Kinda gauging some interest to see if anyone would like to purchase one. The kit would be non polished stainless steel, u could get it polished or do it urself. it would be non mandrel bent. I would say the kit would run about $120 just seeing if anyone would be interested, it may be cheaper depending on the amount of buyers, but I'll let u know I'm gonna talk to my buddy about it.
hopefully I'll beable to get a solid price for everyone by wednesday, i've been pretty busy with school lately, Midterms, so please bear with me everyone, I'm hoping to get a prototype soon. Also, at this point I'm not sure if it will be 1 piece or 2 piece, i'm gonna say most likely two piece, but probably won't come with coupler and mass air flow meter adapter.

unless yorue drivingin 1foot deep water, you dont need to take it apart.
the only way to suck up water woul dbe to fully submerge the filte rin the water, and then you would just stall because tehre would be no air in the engine.

yea you would be surprised by what CAI can go through... like a month ago it started raining here in phoenix and the streets flooded prob about 8-10" of water all around and my car was fine. also before i got my CAI i wasnt paying attention one night when i was driving to my girl friends house and i drove through like 1.5FT of water (at least) that was in the river next to her house... so i wouldnt be to worried about it.... and if you are AEM sells a thing that goes between the piping and if you do suck up water it will get stuck there and it wont hurt your engine. but it costs like 75$ or more i think... but i wouldnt worry about it youll be fine unless you try and cross a river with it.

if your egoing to make a cai for the 3vz here an idea.
make a veyr short adapter to moun teh afm as close to the tb as possible,
from there, mount apod filter directly to it, sealing it with large diameter pipe, taper the end back to 3" so it can fit the gap in the fender.
somewhere ebtween this and the 'as big as possible' bellmouth opening end have a rubber suspension coupler to allow twist and movement in the system.
if yorue going to make a CAI, make it proerly. none of that pod filter in the front bumper crap. that shits useless.
you MUST seal the complete system and make a large bellmouth to aid in ramming air into the system.
think about it, a pod filter will ahve a 3" neck opening and it wont be compleley facing the front either.
the bellmouth will be 3-4x larger.
same deal applies on motorbikes.
make a true air ram. cold air is good, cold air ram assisted is 100 times better. remember eventeh smallest bellmouth will give a large flow gain (think itb)

Here's my CAI for my 3VZ-FE...first one made ever It's probably best that it's two piece (after the AFM) so that you don't have to remove the bumper to put it on.
where did you buy those plastic connectors that connects the pipes? how much do they cost? how much did that long 3 pipe cost you? i really like your build. i know that it's an old thread, but i don't want to start a new one. do u have a write up or tips on how to do this?
